Burning Up Time, how it was done!

A while ago we had a brief that required us to shoot a perfect fireball. Hello danger goodbye health & safety, or was it!

Well just for once being a complete colour geek stopped us getting our fingers burnt, so instead of breaking out the matches, we broke out the studio fish tank and dropped in a great big blob of Cyan ink.

Quite a funky shot, if your into the whole Rorschach thing. You know look at this blob and see an elephant or Elvis (no really they're in there somewhere). Thing is though, we saw that black was the opposite to white, but far more interesting, if you know your colour wheel, Cyan is the opposite to Fiery orange Hmmmm....... That gives me an idea.

Well, what do you know, it only took one button press, but maybe a little bit of Photographer/DoP thinking outside the fish tank as well.
